Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
While all students are encouraged to apply, scholarship funding is limited based on the giving of our generous donors and is not guaranteed. Furthermore some scholarships have eligibility requirements set by the donor. When awarding scholarships, we consider enrollment intent, ministry involvement, and financial need.

• IMB Journeymen who have recently returned from their service (within 2 years of service end date) may receive a tuition scholarship for ½ of their degree program, up to 24 credit hours.
• Scholarship qualification is based on successful completion of the field appointment.
• Gateway Seminary will work with applicant to verify their prior service with the IMB.
• Scholarship applicants must be fully degree-seeking at the masters level.
IMB Personnel
• Gateway Seminary has specific scholarships allocated for IMB personnel.
• Please indicate your IMB service within the scholarship application to be considered for these funds.
Scholarships at Gateway Seminary begin with the commitment of the Southern Baptist Convention to quality theological education. Gifts from thousands of SBC churches and faithful individuals, given directly and through the Cooperative Program, provide major funding for the operational budget of the Seminary. The result of such wonderful gifts is an annual tuition subsidy that keeps educational costs at a manageable level. This means that every SBC students receives a major portion of actual tuition costs free through Cooperative Program gifts.
At the same time, we strongly encourage students to approach their education with thoughtful stewardship. Gateway scholarships are intended to assist, not fully meet, the financial needs of each student. For those broader financial needs, we encourage students to access campus information concerning job placement services and ministry placement opportunities for gainful employment. Many students pursue their studies through a combination of resources, including personal savings, support from family or church, employment, and scholarships. We are grateful for the many ways God provides, and we encourage students to seek those provisions as they prepare for faithful service.
Over the years, hundreds of faithful men and women have been called to establish endowment funds and name scholarships for the purpose of investing in future leaders like yourself. Their generosity is why Gateway Seminary is able to assist students financially, and it is a priority of the president to seek ways to increase scholarship opportunities for students.
We believe it is important for students to remember that any scholarship is an act of generosity and sacrifice from our donors. This is why Gateway requires that a scholarship recipient submit a thank you letter to their scholarship fund donors before funds are applied to their account.
