Our Staff
Dr. John Shouse is a native of Washington, D.C. and has served churches in Texas, Kentucky, Connecticut, and the District of Columbia. Dr. Shouse has also served as adjunct professor at Austin Presbyterian Seminary; adjunct professor of religion at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas; Garret Fellow in Systematic Theology at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky; guest lecturer for the Bible Chair at the University of Texas; and a visiting scholar at Biola University, Fuller Seminary, St. Andrews University, and the Graduate Theological Union.
Dr. Shouse is the author of An Introduction to Christian Worship. His research interests include the Doctrine of God, particularly in the area of the Trinity, Christology, Christian Worship, Theological Method, language philosophy and Narrative Theology – particularly as it is influenced by Dramatic Theory, and Soren Kierkgaard.
Dr. Shouse is active in the professional theater, most recently in Equity productions of William Shakespeare. He is also a performing illusionist and has presented his Evening of Gospel Illusion at venues all over the world - including Scotland, Nigeria and Ethiopia as well as at churches and conferences in this country.
Dr. Shouse has written numerous professional papers and publications, been featured speaker at conferences and churches throughout the country, served over fifteen churches as Interim Pastor and for almost a decade served part time as Lead Pastor for Tiburon Baptist Church in Tiburon, California.
