Associate Pastor: Over Grow Ministries
The role of the Associate Pastor: Grow is to provide leadership, vision, and growth in The Church at Estrella, both physical and spiritual growth, alongside the Lead Pastor and serve The Church at Estrella (TCE). This position is primarily responsible for discipleship and the growth ministries as defined by TCE. This position is a lead role, with accountability to the Lead Pastor, and will require support of the beliefs, values and strategy of TCE and its staff, leadership, teams, and volunteers.

The Associate Pastor Grow (APG) will be responsible for the following:
1. Modeling Biblical Priorities
Responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of [TCE]. The APG should
represent a growing personal relationship with Christ. The APG models a strong relationship with his or her spouse (if married) and children (if applicable). The APG strives to fulfill his or her purpose in life and ministry while demonstrating integrity in words, relationships and actions.
These objectives are accomplished by:
• Committing to a daily quiet-time with God.
• Participating in, or Leading in a TCE small group on a regular basis.
• Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity.
• Supporting the ministries of TCE by faithfully and regularly giving.
• Adhering to and encompassing the qualities and characteristics required of TCE
employees, as defined by the Staff Handbook* and the Bible.

2. Oversee the Growth Ministries
The APG oversees multiple teams, that are each responsible for discipleship, teaching and training as part of TCE: Nursery, Kids Jr. Kids, Teens, Young Adults, Men’s, Women’s, and Community Groups. (Think Family Pastor, or Minister of Education)
• Provide vision and strategy for the leaders in these teams.
• Meet regularly (at least monthly- preferably weekly) with these teams and their leaders to best assess and support their needs.
• Create a sense of tribe and purpose around the vision component of Grow for TCE.
• Communicate the importance and place of each of these teams in the overall TCE vision.
• Develop and Direct the studies that Community Groups will engage in to support the vision and teaching ministry of TCE.
• Develop leaders for, and help those that you lead to develop leaders for the respective ministry areas.
2. Oversee the Next Steps Team
We are both a covenant and next steps culture church. In this we mean that we have a process that we work, and invite people into, and that there are expectations of what happens at each step. It is intentional. The APG oversees this assimilations process.
• Metrics for reaching first time guests
• Follow up for those guests (1st-2nd-3rd).
• Invites to Popeyes with the Pastor.
• Involvement in Groups or Teams.
• And additional steps as added by the lead staff and or next steps team.
4. Assist in Sermon Planning, Series Development and Preaching
The APG will assist the Lead Pastor in sermon planning and preparation. Preach at least once per six week series.
• Regular meetings with the Lead Pastor to discuss the needs and directions of the church and the preaching ministry, as well as conceptualize the teaching ministry.
• This may include participating in a Preaching Co-op with the Pastor and other men in the church who are investigating a calling to the preaching/ pastoral ministry.
5. Discipleship Development
TCE currently does not have a strong personal or corporate discipleship culture, beyond small groups. It will be the responsibility of this position to help develop and deploy strategies to strengthen this weakness.

6. Budget and Purchase/ Budget Reports
Responsible for the budgets and purchases of leaders underneath their purview. This does not require physically securing the items, but it does mean that authority of approvals resides with this position when it comes to all areas grow related.

7. Participating in and Lead Team Meetings
The entire TCE team will meet 1x a month (the first Sunday evening of the month) for prayer and for the purpose of hearing from each other concerning the overall vision of the church and where the church is heading. The lead staff will meet weekly Tuesdays at 9:30am to review and look ahead. It is the job of the APG to meet with the teams they lead.
In addition, the APG and Lead Pastor will meet monthly to chart and course correct together as well as handle any relevant business.

8. Evaluation
The Lead Pastor will be responsible for evaluating the APG and providing feedback to all these items which will continue TCE’s pursuit of excellence for the glory of God. This is done 2x a year (May and Nov) and is used in compensation calculations and raises.

9. And all other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor which are in accordance with the vision, mission and strategy of TCE.
