SUMMARY

The South Tulsa Minister of Music will oversee all music related strategy, events, and personnel of the church. This role will provide leadership, coordinate, and cast vision for the staff and volunteers who are involved in the various choirs, orchestra, band, studio production, and contemporary music. This position is pastoral and requires the individual to serve not solely as a musical leader but also as a shepherd to all who serve in this ministry and the church.

The Music Minister is responsible for contributing to and carrying out the vision of the Lead Pastor and the leadership team, while coaching and leading rehearsals of the music ministry of the church throughout the week. Consistent with South Tulsa's emphasis of generational unity, the Music Minister will coordinate, develop, and lead choirs and orchestras of all ages - from the adult choir and orchestra to children's choirs and orchestras. The Music Minister will have the responsibility to lead any events or needs that arise in the church as they relate to music and studio production, such as funerals, performances, or other special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Possess and exhibit a personal faith and walk with Jesus
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field required, Master's or Doctorate preferred
- Demonstrated excellence and experience as a worship leader and experience in music, worship, or related field
- Pastoral leadership ability
- Competency in Biblical theology
- Skilled in choral, vocal, and instrumental direction
- Skilled in the use of technology in worship
- Excellent people, leadership, and organizational skills
- Understanding and support of the Baptist Faith and Message
