One Hope at FBTC Senior Pastor Position
Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide guidance, direction, and oversight to the ministries, operations, and staff of One Hope at FBTC, in keeping with the congregation-approved Church Constitution, for the glory of God and the building up of His body.
Accountability:
The Senior Pastor reports to the Board of Deacons and is responsible for always keeping an open line of communication with the Board of Deacons, the staff, and ministry leaders.
Classification:
The Senior Pastor is a regular full-time salaried employee who has ministerial status through licensing and ordination.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Obey – Follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the whole counsel of Scripture in all aspects of ministry and life.
• Teach – Prepare and deliver weekly sermons with Biblical truth to share the good news of Christ and equip believers to reach those around them. Provide oversight for all teaching ministries of the church, ensuring sound Biblical teaching and training as needed.
• Shepherd – Provide pastoral care and support to members and the community.
• Lead – Provide overall direction for staff, ministries, and strategic initiatives. This includes hiring, coaching, and evaluating people to keep the team focused and aligned.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must meet all the Biblical standards for an elder, deacon, teacher, church leader, and servant of the Lord outlined in I Timothy, Titus, and throughout the New Testament.
• Know how to listen and hear the Holy Spirit and take His guidance to prepare and deliver dynamic, theologically sound, Bible-based life-applicable sermons, preaching with conviction from the whole Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, even if the Word is unpopular in the world’s eyes.
• Ordained and seminary-trained with experience and knowledge in the whole counsel of Scripture.
• Spiritual integrity and an ongoing and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.
• Character that acts justly, loves mercy, and walks humbly with our God.
• Adhere and uphold the One Hope at FBTC Constitution and agree without reservation to the church’s values, vision, purpose, and statement of faith.
• 5+ years of progressive ministry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree from an accredited seminary
• 3+ years as a senior pastor or 5+ years as an associate pastor
• Demonstrate ability to administer a team by recruiting, delegating, empowering, and mentoring staff and volunteers.

• Intellectually astute and curious – In tune with current issues demonstrating sensitivity and appreciation for diversity of perspectives and cultures, while making sure the truth of God’s Word prevails.
Compensation:
Negotiable and subject to approval by the Board of Deacons.
