Job Overview
We are looking for a Christ-centered, godly man to join our church and elder team with:
● A track record of equipping disciples for ministry and of reproducing disciple-makers
● A heart for reaching and developing Youth and Young adults as disciples of Christ
● A desire to help lead the church into biblically-guided Christian worship

Our leadership seeks to take a team approach to ministry. The Pastor for Discipleship and Worship (PDW) will be asked to develop the gifts of team volunteers to excel in his areas of ministry which include:

Pastoral Leadership (~15%): Our elders embrace their roles as undershepherds of Christ’s flock.
• Participate as an elder in member care and preaching ministries
• Participate in weekly staff meetings
• Participate in semi-monthly elder meetings

Discipleship (~60%) - We are committed to personal discipleship and growing as disciple-makers. This role will give deliberate guidance, encouragement, and oversight to our youth, their families, and the youth leadership team.
● Teach or oversee weekly Bible study and discipleship curriculum
● Build relationships with students and their families
● Equip parents in their role as disciple-makers
● Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers
● Develop connections within the community for reaching students
● Plan and coordinate events for fellowship and outreach

Worship Ministry (~25%) - We are looking for someone to provide leadership for a team-oriented worship ministry.
Collaborate with the Pastor for Teaching and Leadership and other elders to:
● Organize and oversee worship services
● Coordinate special worship services (Christmas Eve, Good Friday, etc.)
● Lead the church in biblically-based praise and enjoyment of God
Oversee and manage the worship team
● Scheduling, recruiting, and training volunteer instrumentalists and vocalists
● Have the ability to lead vocals and play a primary worship instrument

Our church gathers in the growing west end of Henrico County, adjacent to Richmond, VA. We have a great opportunity for growth with youth and young adults. There are fifteen middle schools and high schools located within a 5-mile radius of our facilities, as well as multiple universities within 10 miles.

Candidate Must Have
● Godly character, fulfilling the Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7 profile of an elder
● Strong working knowledge of Scripture and theology
● Consistency with our church’s doctrine, vision, mission, and values
● Experience in leading worship and working with youth and young adults

Candidate Must Be
● Gifted in teaching, musical ability, and encouraging believers in ministry
● Humble yet confident in what God will do through the church
● A joyful pursuer of unity with fellow leaders (elders, staff, deacons, etc.)
● Compelled by Christ’s call to serve
● Passionate about discipleship and worship

Preferred Experience
We value formal biblical education and/or training, as well as previous volunteer and/or vocational ministry experience. Salary to be determined based on experience and education.
