Emmanuel Baptist Church is seeking a dynamic Worship & Sports Ministry Pastor/Minister to join our team full-time. This unique role combines leading worship with overseeing our sports ministry programs. We're looking for someone with a heart for worship, a strong musical background, and a love for sports. The ideal candidate will inspire and connect our community through music, as well as develop and coordinate sports activities that foster fellowship and outreach. Description of Worship Ministry Role:
The Worship Pastor/Minister is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the worship services at EBC. This position requires a strong commitment to Jesus Christ and to serving His Church with excellence. The Worship Pastor/Minister will work collaboratively with the pastoral staff, musicians, and volunteers to create a worship experience that glorifies God and edifies the congregation.

1. Worship Planning and Leadership:
- Plan and lead Sunday worship services. Because EBC is a multigenerational and multi-ethnic congregation, the Worship Pastor/Minister will ensure to include:
-Contemporary Worship Music (i.e. Hillsong, Vertical, Passion, CityAlight)
-Hymns (Traditional hymns with contemporary arrangement and instrumentation)
-Black Gospel/Contemporary Fusion (i.e Maverick City, Jon Reddick, People & Songs)
- Select and prepare music, coordinating with musicians and vocalists for rehearsals and performances.
- Lead congregational singing and other elements of worship (e.g., prayers, scripture readings).
- Be a capable instrumentalist should the need arise for the Pastor/Minister to lead solo.

2. Team Development and Coordination:
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer musicians, vocalists, and worship team members.
- Schedule and lead regular rehearsals, providing direction and support to team members.
- Foster a sense of community and spiritual growth within the worship team.

3. Technical and Administrative Duties:
- Coordinate with the audio-visual team to ensure high-quality sound and video production during services.
- Manage the worship budget, including the purchase of music, equipment, and other necessary supplies.
- Maintain and organize the church’s music library and worship resources.
- Learn and master how we have set up Propresenter and provide guidance for improvement

4. Spiritual Leadership:
- Model a life of worship and spiritual maturity, actively participating in the life of the church.
- Encourage and support the spiritual growth of the worship team members and congregation.
- Collaborate with the pastoral staff to integrate worship with the overall ministry and mission of the church.

5. Special Services and Events:
- Plan and lead music for special services (e.g., Christmas, Easter, weddings, funerals) and church events as needed.
- Work with other ministry leaders to support worship needs for various church programs and activities.

Description of Sports Ministry Role:

The Sports Ministry Director will lead, develop, and oversee all sports-related activities and programs within the church. This individual will work to create an inclusive and engaging environment where participants can grow physically, spiritually, and relationally. The director will collaborate with church leadership, volunteers, and community members to ensure the ministry aligns with the church's mission and values.

1. Program Development and Management
- Develop and implement a variety of sports programs and events that cater to different age groups and skill levels.
- Plan, organize, and supervise sports leagues, clinics, camps, and tournaments.
- Ensure all programs are Christ-centered and promote spiritual growth alongside physical activity.

2. Volunteer Recruitment and Training
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and coaches to assist with sports programs.
- Provide ongoing support, training, and development opportunities for volunteers.

3. Community Engagement and Outreach
- Partner with City Sports leagues to provide community interaction and outreach opportunities for EBC.
- Organize outreach events and initiatives to attract new participants and engage the broader community.

4. Facility Management
- Oversee the maintenance and scheduling of church sports facilities and equipment.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Develop and manage the sports ministry budget, including expenses for programs, equipment, and events.

5. Communication and Promotion
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, volunteers, and church leadership about upcoming events and programs.
- Utilize various media platforms (social media, church website, newsletters) to promote the sports ministry.

6. Spiritual Leadership
- Integrate biblical principles and teachings into all aspects of the sports ministry.
- Provide spiritual support and guidance to participants and volunteers.
- Lead devotionals, prayer sessions, and Bible studies related to sports and physical activity.

Qualifications:
- A strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the Southern Baptist faith and message.
- Proven experience in leading worship, with the ability to sing and play a musical instrument proficiently.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage volunteer teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Work Schedule:
- This is a full-time position that expects the Pastor/Ministry to work at least 40 hours per week, including Sundays, rehearsals, and additional planning and preparation time.
- Additionally, regular office hours, attendance at weekly staff meetings, and special events are expected.

Compensation:
- A competitive pay package will be offered based on experience and qualifications in accordance with other churches of a similar size and situation.
