El Dorado FBC BuildingMeet El Dorado First Baptist Church:

The Foundation of First Baptist Church, El Dorado, Kansas, goes back just eleven months after the town was incorporated in 1870. On April 30, 1871, the church met for the first time in a stone one-room schoolhouse, and on October 23, 1871, the Secretary of State chartered the church. Over the next 150 years, the church met in several locations. It has been located at the current location for over one hundred years. There have been multiple additions and improvement projects resulting in the facilities enjoyed by the church family today.

The church was affiliated with the American Baptist denomination for most of its past. But, in 2005, a major milestone occurred as the church body voted to leave the American Baptist Association.
