The elders of Coronado Baptist Church are searching for the man called to the position of Senior Pastor. We are a medium-sized church located ni El Paso Texas, having been planted by First Baptist Church ni El Paso ni 1963-64 and constituted an independent church in 1972.
The vision of Coronado Baptist Church is to create a community of authentic believers and
to witness a city transformed by the life-changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
The mission of Coronado Baptist Church is to glorify God by joining God's Spirit in loving al
peoples, telling them the good news of God's salvation, and developing them into obedient followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, equipped to minister.

Job Title: Senior Pastor
Department: Church Ministries
Supervised by: Elders
Compensation: Full-time salaried, elder discretion
Position Summary:
This is a full-time position responsible for leading the pastoral ministries of the Church in counsel with the elders. He serves as an elder and works with the other elders, pastors, church staff, and deacons to: (1) lead the Church in the achievement of its mission, (2) preach the Word of God faithfully, lead the Church in personal and corporate prayer, proclaim the Gospel to unbelievers, and disciple believers to effectively participate in the mission of the Church, (3) care for the Church's members and others in the community, and (4) provide oversight for the administration and care of paid and volunteer staff.
Requirements:
• Agree and adhere to the Mission, Vision, What We Believe and governing documents on the church website (cbcelp.org).
• Agree and adhere to the most recent confessional statement of the Baptist Faith and Message (https://bfm.sbc.net/bfm2000/).
• A shepherd with a heart for leading people to Christ. A disciple-maker with a strong commitment to personal evangelism, discipleship, missions, and multiplication.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate and sustain ministries.
• Meets all character and ministry requirements (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:1-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4)
• Minimum undergraduate degree.
• A seminary degree earned or in progress toward completion.
• Master of Divinity preferred but not required.
• Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
Specific Duties Assigned:
• Serves as an elder.
• Serves as the primary expository preacher and Bible teacher, responsible for planning and leading all worship services.
• Leads the church prayer meetings.
• Trains the saints to follow Jesus.
• Recruits, models, and equips people working in church ministries in a gospel-centered discipleship strategy to train, equip, and send disciples to effectively share the gospel.
• Oversees the church’s pastoral staff performing baptisms, weddings, funerals, visitations, etc.
• Leads or participates in the weekly general church staff meeting.
• Leads the church in planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating all church programs and ministries in consultation with the elders.
• Supervises the work of associate pastors, ministry directors, other paid ministry staff, and volunteers to equip the saints for the work of ministry.
• Oversees the efficient and fruitful allocation of church’s ministry resources.
• Oversees and ensures maintenance of the church’s expenses within the established annual budget.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the elders.
Working Hours and Benefits:
• Works as many hours as necessary per week to execute his specific duties assigned.
• Non-workdays will be flexible but must participate in or lead the weekly general Church staff meeting.
• Salary will be commensurate with duties, experience and qualifications, paid bi-weekly.
• Vacation and continuing professional education/seminar time and expense will be similar to other pastors.
